About Us

Kelly Alvstad had many dreams at a very young age growing up in Eastern Pennsylvania. She was always creating something out of nothing. She made clothes for the one and only Barbie Doll (let’s be honest, she was a farm kid and her John Deere tractors were more important) that she owned using scraps from her Mommom’s sewing room. She painted on rocks before it was a viral social media experiment. But most importantly, she collected things no one wanted.

Then she “grew up” but still had that dream twinkling in her eye. At the age of 27, she headed west to Montana where she met the love of her life. They married and had a son that would later become the backbone of her daily inspirations. Then one day, that twinkle became a bright light.

May of 2017 she officially opened the doors to The Shoppes at Peifer’s General Store in Sidney, MT. Her vision was to not only showcase her antiques, furniture, gifts and primitive wares but to also highlight vendors from Montana and North Dakota.

The Alvstad’s have gone on to have three more blond-haired, blue-eyed girls that can be seen helping at The Shoppes most days. And that little boy? He taught her to see the imperfections of pieces not as a challenge to “fix” but as a highlight to show their history.
